Ever wish you knew the best time to sell in your market? A tool from HomeLight, a real estate referral company, wants to reveal sellers’ best chances for getting top dollar or the quickest sale. However, the best time to sell can also vary quite a bit from region to region. HomeLight analyzed housing market data from 2014 to 2017 in search of the best month to sell in cities across the U.S. For example, it found that in San Francisco and Phoenix, September offers the best bang for sellers’ buck, and in October, Seattle may offer sellers the best chances. On the other hand, the month of February most often gives sellers the best opportunities in New York City. Plug in your city and state on homelight.com to receive charts that reveal the best time for maximizing sales price, what time is best for selling a home faster, or when sellers are likely to get the best sale-to-list ratio. You can also go deeper into the data beyond a general metro area and take a peek at the data within smaller towns, too.
